June's Ipsy Bag

Happy Wednesday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend with their fathers. Instead of celebrating with my dad, I spent it with my Gramps and Uncle--two of the most extraordinary men in my life! PDA (public display of affection) isn't very big in my family, so we kept it simple with dinner outside of home. Anyone else's family like that?

Anyways...I received my June Ipsy bag this week. Not a fan of leopard, but the bag is excellent quality!  I'm impressed, Ipsy!

1) Starlooks Lip Pencil in Bare (K308)

For your reference, the top swatch is the lip pencil. First off...I have never used a lip pencil. When I heard this month's bag would include one, I was ecstatic! However...I was not expecting such an earthy and dark color. I am having a hard time using it because my lips are naturally pigmented! It smells like a crayon, but the consistency is terrific. It glides on effortlessly and is very pigmented. I am disappointed I didn't receive Tickle Me Pink...maybe next time!

2) Chella Ivory Lacy Highlighter Pencil

For your reference, the middle swatch is the highlighter. This was another product I was looking forward to try. I did not own a highlighter previously. Application is very smooth and creamy. I like the color as well! You also need to set it with powder. It's quite sticky!

3) NYX Blue in PB22 Pecan

For your reference, the bottom swatch is the blush. Okay...this is more like a bronzer than a blush. If they had called it a bronzer I would not have been as disappointed! I love the texture and application. It's blendable and buildable. I can definitely see the resemblance to Nars's Laguna. I kind of wish I got a blush though...

4) J.Cat Beauty Sparkling Cream Palette in SCP106 Volta

These colors are so fun! I'm not a big shadow user, but I really wanna try these colors out. I was afraid that the consistency would irritate my eyes. To my surprise, it was very creamy and smooth. Maybe I'll try a look...when I'm not as camera shy!

5) J.Cat Beauty Flash Eyelash in EL47

I love myself some false lashes. (I was not blessed with lush and long ones...) I'm actually really happy with the one I received. It's fluttery and dense. I also appreciate how it's not perfect. Perfect false lashes looks so creepy and fake! I'm curious about 747M and EL01. The first has a more natural look and the lashes crisscross. The second is kind of like EL47, but not as dense and longer. I might try those out in the future.

My favorite products have to be the Chella Highlighter and J.Cat Beauty False Lashes. I can definitely see myself using both! My least favorite is the Starlooks Lip Liner. It's a wonderful product, but I just didn't like the color. They always end up sending me dark lip colors!!! I gotta retake that quiz...

A week ago, I was telling myself I should cancel my subscription. But now I have a change of heart. I think I'll stick with Ipsy until the end of the year and see where things go!
