May's Ipsy Bag

Happy Thursday!

I just received May's Ipsy Bag today. Remember how last month the bag itself was not up to quality, so they sent me another? Well, to my surprise they included the bag that I was supposed to get in the package! (I forgot to snap a picture of it...) This month's bag is a colorful mixture of Spring/Summer items. It makes for a nice transition. Let's dive in!

1-Pacifica's Coconut Crushed Pearl Bronzing Body Butter

Believe it or not, I have never used body butter before, haha. I was kind of glad I got this! It smells delicious--sweet vanilla. It reminds me of a vanilla candle. I 'swatched' it on the back of my hand (right portion). I used a tiny drop and it ended up being too much. So, consistency-wise, it is kind watery; however, a small amount goes a LONG way. It does give your skin a sun-kissed glow and there are reflective particles in the formula (glittery, but not very obvious). The only thing I don't like is how it feels post-application. It is kind of sticky! I'm sure it won't bother me once I've gone in the water, but it's not my favorite kind of feeling.

2-Zoya in Neely

So the polish I received is a blue-ish green color. It reminds me of Essie's Turquoise & Caicos, but it's not as saturated (more of a tint). It is more watery in consistency than Essie, but the opacity is about the same. On the left, I applied two layers of the polish. Overall, I'm very happy with the application and how quickly it dries. I am not a fan of the color because I already have something similar.

3-Pacifica Perfume Roll-On in Island Vanilla

First off, I love the packing. It is a lot better than all the other roll-on's I have received from Ipsy. As for the perfume, it's sweet and slightly fruity. It's not too strong, so no allergy attacks. (Woohoo!)

4-Mirabella Colour Sheers Lipstick in Daydream

Thus far...I have not truly liked any lipstick Ipsy has provided. This might be the first. It's a beautiful color. It is not very pigmented, hence 'sheer.' The swatch on my hand is after several applications, so that means it is buildable! It's quite creamy, but not as moisturizing as drug store lipsticks like Maybelline's Super Stay 14 Hour series. I can definitely see myself using this on a day-to-day basis, but I'd probably put lip balm first.

5-Yaby Concealer Refills in Honey

The last item in this month's bag is concealer! I'm always open to trying more concealer. I have gone through several...Neutrogena...Revlon...Shiseido...Mac...to name a few. I can't seem to find a formula that doesn't dry out and crack. Okay, back to Yaby. It has a creamy consistency after you warm it up (I generally like to warm up my concealer with my finger). Compared to the current concealer I am using...bareMinerals in medium 2...it is quite similar in color, but has more of a sandy/tan color. I do not think this is good for under eye area. It dries to a matte finish and it cracks.

Like every other Ipsy bag I have received thus far...there are ups and downs. My favorite is the bronzing lotion and my least favorite is the concealer. Thank you so much for reading! Next review will be May's BarkBox, which hopefully will arrive next week. Until then!
